TechSHIZZLE Will Be at 2014 CES!

CES Logo

Look for us at the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas!

We’ll arrive on January 8, 2014, then be departing on January 10, 2014.

We’ll definitely be partying with Mobile Nations at their meetup (co-hosted with Geek Beat) at Earl of Sandwich in Planet Hollywood, before heading out to PBR Rock Bar & Grill where iMore’s Rene Ritchie will be showing off his bull riding skills. Or lack thereof.

We at TS will be bringing you lots of CES coverage, including interviews, announcements, and inside info.

We went last year (our first time), and I have to say it was pretty overwhelming in size and scope.

Interestingly, what stood out most to my CES virgin sensibility was the plethora of white box Android tablet manufacturers. If I had a check with enough zeros, I could walk up to one of the manufacturer’s booths (there were about 25), pick a size and set of specs, tell them how many I wanted (500, 500,000, 5,000,000, whatever), give them my logo and a check, and they’ll get to work. Go to the booth next door to speak with the packaging manufacture, give them a check, then I’m in the Android tablet business and we’d be selling TechSHIZZLE tablets in the sidebar next to this post. Nice.

Another standout from last year was the great 3D printing technology. I expected 3D printing to become more commonplace in 2013 that it was; maybe 2014.

The sheer mass of humanity also stuck in my mind as getting from one venue to another (LV Convention Center to the showrooms at the Venetian, for example) was almost impossible. We’re talking hours in line waiting to get on the official shuttle busses. Fortunately, we were able to hitch a ride with an enterprising limo driver that I’m sure was delivering frat boys to strip clubs the night before, but was now shuttling people between venues for $20 a head on the down low.

Samsung had an amazing 4K set up as well. Maybe 2014 becomes the year 4K starts to get affordable. If only there was more 4K content. Netflix will begin pushing out 4K content in 2014.

This year, expect lots of wearables, lots of UltraHD 4K tvs/displays, more 3D printing, and lots of Android handsets (Samsung Galaxy S5 anyone?).

We’ll be tweeting, posting, and ouching lots of video content to keep everyone up to date on all the CES2014 shiz.

If you’re going to be there, let us know! We’d love to meet up with bloggers, app developers, and tech ninjas of all sorts while we’re in Vegas.
